Housing Details & Guidelines

Housing Overview

Housing is priced per night — arrive as early as Thursday, August 14, and depart as late as Monday, August 18. Official Return to the Redwoods programming runs from Friday, August 15, through Sunday, August 17.

Please note that on-campus accommodations are simple with limited amenities.

  • Check-in: 11 AM – 8 PM on the day of arrival
  • Check-out: 1 PM on the day of departure

Age Restrictions:

  • Dorm-style housing is 18+ only for safety reasons
  • Guests of all ages are welcome in apartment-style housing

Accessibility:

  • Most apartments are two-story with stairs at the entrance and to bedrooms
  • Bunk beds are very common among double and triple rooms.
  • If you need any accessible accommodations, please indicate this during registration or contact us at reunions@ucsc.edu

Registration & Cancellation Policies

  • Payment: 25% due upon booking; full payment required 14 days before check-in
  • Cancellations:
    • Cancellations with at least two weeks’ notice will receive a refund minus a 6% fee
    • Cancellations less than two weeks will be charged $50 and a 6% fee
    • Cancellations without at least 72-hour notice will be charged one night’s accommodation and 6% fee
    • If you need to cancel, please reach out to reunions@ucsc.edu

Apartment Housing

Enjoy shared living spaces perfect for groups and families. Apartments are true residence hall-style accommodations with basic amenities.

Included:

  • Linen packet per bed: 1 fitted sheet, 1 flat sheet, 2 blankets, 1 pillow, 2 bath towels, 1 washcloth
  • Shared spaces: Living room, dining area, kitchen (no dishes or cookware provided)

Important Notes:

  • Many rooms have bunk beds
  • Most apartments are two-story with stairs at the entrance and to bedrooms — if you need a ground-floor unit, please let us know
  • Open to guests of all ages

New this yearFamily-Zone apartments in Rachel Carson College:

  • Since guests under 18 cannot stay in dorms, we’ve set aside small apartment units specifically for families with children, giving them priority access to these spaces. These units are located a bit farther from the main event activities, offering a quieter atmosphere, but are conveniently close to the Rachel Carson Dining Hall.

Residence Hall Dorm-Style Housing

Experience classic dorm living in a vibrant community setting. Dorms offer simple, shared spaces for a true campus experience.

Included:

  • Linen packet per bed: 1 fitted sheet, 1 flat sheet, 2 blankets, 1 pillow, 2 bath towels, 1 washcloth

Important Notes:

  • Age restriction: Dorms are for guests 18 and older
  • Room setups: Bunk beds are common in both double and triple rooms
  • Shared spaces: Common areas, including all-gender bathrooms and showers, are shared with other guests on the floor

New this year: Quiet Dorms at Rachel Carson College

  • The quiet dorms are tucked away at the bottom of Rachel Carson College, about a 10-minute walk from the main activities in Porter College, offering a peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle.
  • Quiet dorms operate on a community agreement, where guests are kindly expected to respect quiet hours, though staff will not actively enforce them.
