Recent Grad Advisory Board

Over 35,000 alumni have graduated from UC Santa Cruz in the past ten years. We recognize that these alumni may have different wants and needs outside of traditional alumni programs. Because of this, we have developed specific programming and services for recent grads. The goal of the Recent Grad Advisory Board is to continue to foster the Banana Slug spirit for alumni after they graduate, and to bring the young alumni voice into everything that the alumni program offers. The Recent Grad Advisory Board hosts task force style break out calls throughout the year with different themes. Then from these calls, we implement new ideas, tactics, and strategies into our alumni programming to best serve one of our largest populations.

Who’s on the board?

The board fluctuates between 12 and 20 recent Banana Slug grads. The board members can be nominated by current members, alumni, and UC Santa Cruz Staff. Any alumni interested in being a part of the board can reach out to the staff point, Katie Linder at klinder@ucsc.edu, to find out more.

What are the qualifications?

  • Proud Banana Slug Alumni that have graduated within the past 10 years.
  • Someone who wants to be active in their alumni community and engage their Banana Slug network.
  • A commitment to serve on the board for two years.
  • Participation in a minimum of three advisory break out calls per year.
