Alumni Association Scholarship

Every year, the Alumni Council works with Financial Aid to distribute the Alumni Association Scholarship. These scholarships are distributed at the beginning of fall quarter, and follow the students throughout their time at UC Santa Cruz. Scholarship recipients are recognized at an Alumni Council meeting, and are invited to a variety of alumni events throughout the year.

Student Service Awards

UC Santa Cruz Alumni recognizes student leaders across campus in the form of the College Service Award, Leadership Service Award, and Graduate Service Award. Service award recipients are nominated by select staff across campus. Awardees are leaders in their communities, they support and exemplify what it means to be a Banana Slug.

Outstanding Staff Award

Established by the Alumni Association in 1995, the Outstanding Staff Award is presented to a staff member to recognize sustained, distinguished service by staff to student life, the growth and improvement of UCSC's programs, and the preservation of UCSC's unique intellectual and physical environment. In collaboration with the UCSC Staff Advisory Board, the UCSC Alumni Association honors the very best among our dedicated UCSC staff. Click here to submit an Outstanding Staff Award nomination.

Distinguished Visiting Professor

In 1982, the Alumni Association endowed the UCSC Alumni Association Distinguished Visiting Professorship. The endowed chair was funded by the Alumni Association, individual alumni, and a matching grant from the chancellor. The purpose of the professorship is to enrich undergraduate education at UCSC by providing financial support to hire a person of academic distinction to enhance the college core course each academic year.
