Programs: Get Involved with the Alumni Asssociation
ALUMNI COUNCIL
Serving on the Alumni Council is one of the ways you can advance the interests and promote the welfare of the university. The governing body of the Alumni Association is the Alumni Association Council. The council is composed of thirty members. Twenty-four are graduates of UCSC and are elected.

ADMISSIONS OUTREACH
Alumni volunteers attend high school and community college events as representatives of UCSC to share their experience as former students with prospective students.
In the spring the Alumni Association assists the Admissions Office in "yield events" where newly admitted students can talk with alumni before deciding whether or not to enroll at UC Santa Cruz.

REGIONAL CHAPTERS AND GATHERINGS
In locations around the country, UCSC alumni periodically get together to enjoy each other's company, network, listen to faculty speakers, go to theater performances, wine tastings, parties, educational outings, and a host of other activities.

AFFINITY GROUPS
Stay connected to the groups you affiliated with at UCSC. Join other alumni in enriching the community and academic experience for current students.
Affinity groups include Asian American/Pacific Islander (AAPI) Black Escargot (African-American), Latino Alumni Network, Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender & Intersex (GLBTI) and the Page & Eloise Smith Scholastic Society (for the benefit of students who are orphans, foster children and wards of the the court.) LEGISLATIVE ADVOCACY PROGRAM
This is a unique opportunity to get involved in direct advocacy for UCSC. Each spring, a delegation of UCSC alumni from around the state joins delegations from the other UC campuses to speak to their California legislators.

MENTORING
The online mentor program will connect veteran alumni mentors with current students and recent graduates who want to pursue similar career paths. Click here to become a mentor today.
CAREER ADVICE NETWORK (CAN)
You can assist students and other alumni in career orientation by volunteering to provide career counseling and professional advice by telephone or as part of career fairs and conferences.
