A
five-night stay in Paris
is yours for the bidding! Perhaps a magnum of fine
wine. Or dinner for four. A weekend getaway. For
what will you bid in our silent auction of wines,
dining, and more? Last year's auction raised over
$10,000 in scholarships for financially needy UCSC
undergraduates. Items, donated by generous alumni
and local businesses, range in value from $25 to
$1,200. Bring your checkbook and credit card
and help create scholarships for next year's
students through the UCSC Alumni Association
Scholarship Fund.

Macbeth
One of the most
exciting, frightening, and beautiful plays ever
written, Macbeth confronts us with a universal
riddle: how is it that we can distinguish between
good and evil - and knowingly choose the latter?
The speed and compression of Shakespeare's shortest
tragedy and its thrilling poetry make Macbeth one
of his most popular plays. The title role is played
by Paul Whitworth.

She
Stoops to Conquer
by
Oliver Goldsmith
Young Marlow is in a
middle-class mess: obsessed with, but scared of,
the opposite sex. When he mistakes future
father-in-law's house for an inn and his
fiancée for a barmaid, we enter the pure
comic territory of an eighteenth-century Fawlty
Towers.
8 p.m., in the
outdoor Festival Glen
Cost: $25.00 (regularly $33.00)
